Solomon Success » Podcast (general)

Welcome to the Solomon Success Show! Listen in as Jason and Bruce Fleet talk about The Solomon Secret: Seven Principles of Financial Success from King Solomon, History’s Wealthiest Man.

Using Solomon's life and teachings as a foundation, Bruce Fleet offers today's readers a unique, well-grounded, proven method of wise investing.

Solomon was more than just a character in the Bible-he was the richest man who ever lived. If we could learn from him directly, what would he teach us about growth in riches and knowledge? And how can we relate his life and wisdom to the society and successful financial planning of our contemporary world? Bruce Fleet's The Solomon Secret brings together instructional parables highlighting the wisdom of history's wealthiest man, with practical and sound financial advice for twenty- first-century readers.

In the bestselling tradition of The Richest Man in Babylon, The Solomon Secret follows King Solomon as he mentors his young protégé, Abidan, on the seven basic principles of life and their influence on financial success. Each of these parables illustrates a key principle that Abidan must discover before he can garner more wealth and happiness, and is then followed by Fleet's masterful application of these principles to the reader's life and to the most urgent and essential financial questions of our time. Fleet, a successful financial adviser and owner of a large investment firm, draws from the time-honored and historically proven wisdom of the life of the ancient king to offer-through the siphon of his own talent and perspective-the very best in financial strategies for today's challenging economic climate.

And today, Jason welcomes the legendary Mark Victor Hansen, best selling author, real estate investor and entrepreneur! He talks today about his new book, Ask!: The Bridge from Your Dreams to Your Destiny. Most people have beautiful dreams deep inside—the things they would like to have, the relationships they’d love to enjoy, and the wellness and well-being that would help them express their best, in every way. But often those dreams lie buried inside us. Hidden by fear or unworthiness or a lack of awareness of what could be. Asking is the only language to which the Universe can deliver a solution, understanding, illumination, or plan.

There are three distinct channels through which we can ask: Ask Yourself, Ask Others and Ask God.

You were born with a destiny. Your job is to discover it. Once you begin to practice the art and science of asking to discover your destiny and start to move toward it, you can manifest innumerable blessings for yourself and others. This isn’t a complicated process; in fact, it’s a simple gift that lies dormant within you. Once you learn to access that gift, everything changes for the better. Ask! will help you access your hidden dreams and reveal them to be recognized and fulfilled in miraculous ways.

You matter. The world needs you to find your destiny and live it. This book is your guide. Start crossing the bridge to your destiny today!

In the US, we live an economy that is 70% consumer spending. Where one sees frugality as a virtue, they now view it as a vice. [24:35] Can we ever become savers again?

Rabbi Evan translates the wisdom of King Solomon of the Hebrew Bible to ideas in which we can use and live by today. Today, Evan shares his thoughts about how we respond to challenges. In some situations, the key to success is planning and staying ahead, but in certain times we are forced to live responsively.

Key Takeaways:

[2:00] Sometimes you have to think like a chess player, ten moves ahead. While sometimes, we have to think like a tennis player, more responsively.

[5:00] We must learn to be adaptable and adjust our strategy in a responsive method.

Escape to the suburbs! Jason Hartman and Evan Moffic discuss the changes approaching in how we look at our homes. With the benefit of work and school being just a few feet away from our beds, we are all looking to improve our homes. And for those that are currently renting an apartment in the high-density, urban environments, a move in the direction of suburban-living is looking more and more promising. Homebuilders are saying that they are already seeing the effects of this growing trend.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are buying loans in forbearance and essentially they keep kicking the can down the road, delaying the inevitable.

Key Takeaways:

[1;30] “Inflation is a disease of money, thus inflation may have become the oldest form of government finance…” - Jens O. Parrson

[7:00] Escape to the suburbs! All of the reasons why both present and past.

[9:00] People are cocooning in their house.

Jason Hartman and Rabbi Evan Moffic talk about the big migration out of high density areas. Starting in 2016 a trend of moving to low density areas started to grow and the pandemic has encouraged the departure from more densely populated areas. While these trends may rely heavily on the wants and needs of Generation Z, health issues and worker experiences might speed up the migration.

Key Takeaways:

[4:00] Pandemic proved how densely we are living, and also how successfully you can live working remotely

[7:00] Starting in 2016, a trend of non-metropolitan counties were gaining population more-so than metropolitan counties

[9:45] A lot of the migration trends could depend a lot on Generation Z

[13:00] What led you to believe that this mass migration to lower density living would occur?

[16:40] The average population density (APD) of the U.S.A. is only 87 people per square mile

[17:28] The APD of metropolitan areas of the U.S.A. is 283 people per square mile, and the APD of New York City is 27,000 people per square mile

[21:30] The rise of socialism

[25:30] “Expansions make millionaires, recessions and depressions make billionaires”

Today, Rabbi Moffic discusses wealth in terms of freedom, independence, and the ability to live the kind of life that we’d like. Of course, we must learn to navigate challenging times. Rabbi Moffic reminds of the Hebrew scripture that says that God created the cure before the illness. He reminds us that humans are not a burden as some have thought but rather an asset, and capable of dealing with challenges beyond what we can imagine.

[3:00] Why does God allow this disease, COVID-19, to spread around the world?

[4:45] God created the cure before the illness.

Rabbi Moffic discusses four reasons that you really want to be wealthy in our society today. It's not for the reasons many people want to be wealthy, it's not about status and buying things to give us status among other people. In fact, the desire for wealth can push us to constantly get better at what we do; the pursuit and attainment of wealth can change our self-perception. Being wealthy opens us up to the ability to give and serve so many more people than we could if we weren't aspiring to greater heights.

But, in reality, how we use money reflects our innermost values. Part of building wealth is solving problems. People that see money as a sin think of money as a scarce resource, that if we have some then they can't have any.Money is not a goal in itself, it's a means to a higher goal, which is service.

Born into a godly and loving home, Dr. Pete grew up in church and gave his life to Christ at a young age. But while he loved the Lord and deeply desired to serve Him, throughout his formative years he realized that something important was missing from his relationship with Christ. “I did all the things that Christians do to cultivate intimacy with God,” he recalls. “I prayed and read my Bible regularly, I was involved in my church, and to the best of my ability I shared my faith with others. But there was still a void in my closeness to God that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.”

After graduating from Bethel University in Minnesota, where he met and married his wife Stephanie, Dr. Pete continued on to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, graduating in 2001 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Little did he know that God was also subtly preparing him to serve Him in a way that he would have never thought possible.

Dr. Pete Sulack is the founder and majority owner of one of the largest clinics in North America.  His office has seen more than 1,000,000 patient visits over the last 13 years, validating his unique approach to health and wellness.

Dr. Pete actively treats patients traveling from around the world seeking his services.  His studies on the effects of stress, coupled with testimonials from patients and attention in medical communities have garnered him the title of “America’s Leading Stress Expert.”

Introduction

Jason Hartman welcomes author, John Horvat to today’s Solomon Success Show, where they discuss the state of our economy and the fundamental elements needed to fix it. They also talk about intrinsic human failures and their impact on the economy as well as what the Bible says about immigration issues.

Takeaways

03.10 – The economy can’t just be stimulated, regulated or legislated into order. Instead it requires the basic institutions of family, faith and community.

05.30 – We’re currently in a cruise-ship economy, but when the party stops, people are going to start looking for answers.

07.00 – Arguably, the principal reason for the current economic imbalance is due to our desire to have things immediately, coupled with our inability to see past the short-term gain.

13.00 – The Bible says that immigration can be healthy, but it takes time for a people to learn what the country is all about and in order for them to make decisions.

15.35 – With household debt at $13 trillion and government debt at $17 trillion, consumer debt is a huge problem.

17.20 – A conference in July spurred reports that our economy could now be as volatile as it was in the mortgage crisis of 2008.

19.15 – Head to www.ReturntoOrder.org to find out more, read a free chapter of the book and follow John Horvat’s blog.

20.00 – St Thomas Aquinas’s Summa Theologica and the Bible would be some classic but intrinsic resources for those interested in these issues.
